The Family Behind FastCap
There’s a moment in every build, every business, and every idea where it stops being theory and becomes real.
For me, that moment wasn’t in an office.
It was standing with my family, opening the first bulk shipment of FastCaps after years of work to bring the idea to life.
That day wasn’t just about receiving product.
It was proof that years of ideas, risk, and persistence had turned into something tangible.
From Building Brands to Building Products
Before FastCap, I built something else from the ground up.
Outsiders Media started as a way to help outdoor, off-road, and automotive businesses grow. What began as a small operation turned into a multi-million dollar marketing agency, working with brands across the country to generate leads, scale e-com revenue, and build real traction.
Working closely with off-road shops, overland brands, and automotive enthusiasts gave me a front-row seat to a pattern:
- Great products often come from real-world frustration
- The best ideas are usually simple
- And the smallest improvements can make the biggest difference
FastCap came from exactly that place.
The Idea That Wouldn’t Leave
If you’ve ever fueled up your truck, you know the routine.
Unscrew the cap.
Hang it awkwardly.
Try not to scratch your paint.
Repeat… forever.
It’s one of those things everyone deals with, but no one really questions.
Until you do.
FastCap was built around a simple idea:
What if you never had to remove your fuel cap again?
More Than a Fuel Cap. A Statement.
For most people, a fuel cap is invisible.
It’s purely functional. Something you touch, use, and forget.
FastCap changes that.
Yes, it improves the fueling experience.
It eliminates the hassle.
It simplifies the routine.
But it also does something most small components never do: It gives you a place to add personality to your build.
Every vehicle tells a story.
From the tires you run
to the rack on your roof
to the smallest details most people overlook
FastCap becomes part of that story.
Instead of a generic cap hidden behind a door, it becomes a subtle but intentional detail, something that reflects how you approach your build.
About Maxx Powell
Maxx Powell is an entrepreneur, content creator, and founder of Outsiders Media. With a background in digital marketing and a deep connection to the outdoor and automotive lifestyle, he has built his career at the intersection of real-world experience and practical innovation.
But before the business, before the products, and before the brand…
he was out living it.
Through years of building unique vehicles for YouTube and documenting the process, Maxx has spent countless hours in garages, driveways, and job sites bringing ideas to life. Not just for content, but for real use, vehicles meant to be driven, tested, and pushed into environments they were actually built for.
Road trips with family became a constant, stacking miles across the country, chasing new places and new experiences. And with that came something most people never think twice about:
Fuel stops. Hundreds of them.
If not thousands.
Gas stations in small towns, highways, backcountry routes, and everything in between. The same repetitive motion, over and over again, across years of real use.
From scaling marketing systems for automotive businesses through Outsiders Media to launching innovative aftermarket products like FastCap, Maxx’s work is grounded in one principle:
Build things that actually move people forward.
